GMA Network and FPJ Productions, Inc. have teamed up to bring Fernando Poe, Jr.’s (FPJ) most iconic films to television in 2025.
The “FPJ sa GMA” programming will feature a curated selection of FPJ’s greatest box-office hits, bringing his legendary films back to television and rekindling the magic of his cinematic masterpieces.
This special programming is expected to be a memorable and nostalgic experience for both longtime fans and younger audiences who may be discovering his work for the first time.
Present at the significant event were GMA Network President and Chief Executive Officer Gilberto Duavit, Jr., Senior Vice President for Programming, Talent Management, Worldwide, and Support Group and President of GMA Films lawyer Annette Gozon-Valdes, and Senior Assistant Vice President for Program Management, Concepcion Agnes.
Representing FPJ Productions Inc. were Senator Grace Poe, together with FPJ Productions Inc. President Jeffrey Stevens Sonora; FPJ Productions Inc. Vice President, Corporate Secretary, and Treasurer Joseph Sonora; Brian Poe Llamanzares; lawyers Eugenio ‘Toto’ Villareal, Conrada ‘Apple’ Balboa, Ma. Bernadette Vielle Perote; and Annabelle Bernardez.
During the contract signing, Gozon-Valdes highlighted the legacy of the one and only, “Da King,” Fernando Poe, Jr.
“FPJ’s contributions to Philippine cinema and to the Filipino identity remain unmatched. He indeed was, and still is, The King of Philippine Movies, whose influence has been ingrained within our culture and within the hearts and minds of every Filipino,” she said.
Duavit, Jr., also reminisced about watching FPJ’s movies, “Since I was a child, I’ve been a fan of FPJ, and I used to look forward to watching him on GMA back then. In my more than two decades of working at GMA, I often asked myself when he might return. Now, when Annette mentioned that this is a momentous occasion, it truly is. It is our honor for GMA to once again be FPJ’s home. At last, he is returning to the home where he first belonged on television.”
On the other hand, Sen. Grace Poe spoke of her delight that classic movies of FPJ will finally air and be enjoyed again in its first home on television. “From me and my family, thank you very much for valuing the memory and art of FPJ. Even back then and now, FPJ’s works have been shown not only in cinemas but also on television through FPJ sa GMA.”
“I want to express my gratitude that his works will once again be aired on television. Thank you very, very much for welcoming FPJ back and bringing him home,” she finally added.
