MANILA, Philippines — Actress Ataska explained her transition from being “The Voice Kids Season 2” contestant to being one of the sexy actresses of Vivamax.
In an interview with Philstar.com, Ataska said that she is already with Viva for close to 10 years.
“I was in the ‘Voice Kids Season 2’ and after that I signed with Viva. I’ve been with Viva for almost 10 years na po. I’ve done a lot of acting projects and also I started as a recording artist,” she said.
“VJ din po ako and host sa mga presscons (press conference) ng mga movies including Vivamax. I was interested in Vivamax because I found the platform very groundbreaking, daring, kakaiba,” she added.
Ataska said that she does not regret doing sexy movies for Vivamax as she was the one who pitched the idea to Viva boss Vic Del Rosario.
“Since I’m a huge fan of films and I really want to try new things when it comes to acting. Ako po nag-propose ng idea kay Boss Vic na what if I try Vivamax,” she said.
“At first, everyone, kahit si Boss Vic, parang, ‘Sure ka ba diyan?’ Kasi I’ve been with Viva for such a long time, I’m like their baby girl. I was like, ‘I’m sure.’ It’s a really good opportunity for me. I don’t regret anything,” she added.
Ataska, who has just been named Most Promising Actress of the Year at the 4th Annual Lustre Global Awards, is ending the year with a heartfelt and bold performance as a sheltered but rebellious daughter in “Lamas.”
Ataska plays Mona, who spends her days working in a small-town bakery, under the watchful eye of her father, Adon (Mark Anthony Fernandez). She has always been controlled by Adon, to a point where he decides whom she should date, and that is Jake (Van Allen Ong), a wealthy bachelor.
It seems like Mona is already resigned to her fate, but this changes when she meets Lucy (Christy Imperial), a new worker in the bakery. Lucy opens her eyes to the possibility of living her life on her own terms.
Mona has been having sexual fantasies, and her friend Sandra (Alona Navarro) is more than willing to explore them with her. And while Mona is finally coming out of her shell, a former employee named Lina (Cariz Manzano) returns and stirs up tensions within the family.
Directed by Christian Paolo Lat, “Lamas” is now streaming on Vivamax.
