Globe sees increase in fiber prepaid clients

GLOBE Telecom Inc. on Monday said it expected its fiber prepaid subscriber base to reach 200,000 by the end of this year, fueled by increasing demand from households.

Prepaid subscribers were said to have hit 146,000 during the first nine months of 2024.

“We are very happy with the spectacular growth performance of our GFiber Prepaid. Given our current trajectory, we are looking to reach our 200,000 subscribers mark sooner than expected,” said Abigail Cardino, vice president for Globe’s broadband business.

“With GFiber Prepaid, we aim to replicate our success in Prepaid Mobile and encourage our mobile customer base, as well as those currently using competitor products, to switch to GFiber Prepaid using our innovative and value-for-money offers,” she added.

GFiber Prepaid was said to have attracted consumers due to a straightforward, budget-friendly approach offering high-speed and reliable internet without fixed monthly charges.

It was said to have become a key component of Globe’s strategy to expand its broadband subscriber base and address evolving customer preferences sustainably.

Globe said that GFiber Prepaid logged a net promoter score (NPS) of 65 as of August. NPS is an indicator of customer loyalty.

Globe’s share price rose by P30 to close at P2.130 each on Monday.
