MANILA, Philippines — After pushing for the funds for a health care project in Davao Oriental, Sen. Bong Go on Monday attended the ceremonial turnover of eight ambulances for Mati City and the province’s Baganga, Boston, Caraga, Cateel, Manay, Tarragona, Lupon and San Isidro towns.
Go, Senate health committee chair, advocated for project funding as part of his commitment to enhance public health services, especially in underserved areas.
“These ambulances symbolizes caring and speedy action for those needing medical attention. The remoteness of a place or the lack of financial resources should not be a hindrance to seeking medical care. We will continue to bring these services closer to the people,” Go said during the ceremony at Barangay Dahican in Mati City.
The senator said that improving the country’s health care system has always been a part of his advocacy, noting that the eight localities are home to communities where access to immediate medical care is often hampered by distance and limited resources.
Aside from the ambulances, Go has supported other initiatives, including road repairs and construction, multi-purpose building construction, street lighting, flood mitigation and establishment of potable water systems in various places in the country.
Go also supported House Bills 10441 and 10442, which seek to establish the Manikling and Maputi national high schools in San Isidro and Banaybanay towns, respectively.
“I will continue to serve everyone. I believe that my service to you is also a service to God. My only vice is giving service to my fellow Filipinos to the best of my capability,” Go said.
