RIDE-HAILING/ON-DEMAND delivery service provider Grab Philippines and budget hotel Red Planet have partnered to launch Grab Food Lockers, a contactless system to streamline food delivery for the hotel’s guests.

The new model aims to enhance the efficiency and productivity of delivery partners, allowing them to directly deposit food items in lockers instead of waiting at the hotel’s lobby, thus saving time.

Customers can conveniently claim their orders by unlocking the locker through a QR code sent to their phone via the Grab app. The initiative eliminates concerns about missing delivery alerts or preventing orders from being mistakenly claimed by other guests.

“Partnering with Red Planet Hotels to introduce the Grab Food Lockers is a significant step in our mission to continually innovate and improve the experience for both our users and delivery-partners,” said Jose Generoso Roño, Grab Philippines director for commercial and business development.

He pointed out the collaboration sets new standards for convenience and productivity in the on-demand delivery industry.

The lockers can be accessed by guests after using the GrabFood app to order meals, and selecting Red Planet Hotels’ Grab Food Locker as the delivery point. Once the food is delivered, guests receive a unique code to unlock their locker.

Guests scan the QR code on the designated food locker or enter the unique code received to automatically open the assigned locker slot and retrieve their food at any time, ensuring privacy and flexibility.

“This collaboration with Grab Philippines sets a new standard, turning simple stays into seamless experiences,” Red Planet Hotels marketing manager Mary Grace de Luna said.

The Grab Food lockers are available at 10 Red Planet locations in Metro Manila, with discounts this holiday season.

Red Planet recently opened its newest property at BGC in Taguig, equipped with the latest technology and a variety of entertainment options.
