From being carried in the arms of his mother’s lawyer as a little boy, Mary Jane Veloso’s youngest son, Darren, is now the one doing the lifting nearly 10 years later.
As two pictures show, the tables have indeed turned for both of them.
According to lawyer Edre Olalia, one of Veloso’s legal counsels, the first photo was taken during their visit to Veloso in Jakarta, Indonesia in April 2015.
On the other hand, the second photo was taken while they were waiting for Veloso to land at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).

Veloso arrived in the country early today, Wednesday, from Indonesia, where she was detained for more than a decade for drug trafficking.
She was then transferred to the Correctional Institution for Women (CIW) in Mandaluyong City, where she reunited with her sons and her parents.
At the CIW, she is expected to be in quarantine in the first five days and undergo orientation and security evaluation for the next 55 days before being detained in a regular cell. — VDV, GMA Integrated News
