MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has named Lt. Gen. Arthur Cordura as the new commanding general of the Philippines Air Force (PAF).
A graduate of the Philippines Military Academy (PMA) “Tanglaw-Diwa” Class of 1992, Cordura takes over from Lt. Gen. Stephen Parreño who reached the mandatory retirement age of 56 last December 12.
Cordura’s appointment letter was signed by the President and forwarded to the Department of National Defense (DND) Secretary Gilbert Teodoro on Dec. 16.
Prior to being designated as the new PAF chief, Cordura served as the vice chief of staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).
He will officially take on his new role in a change-of-command ceremony at the PAF headquarters in Villamor Air Base in Pasay City on Thursday, Dec. 20.
