President Ferdinand “Bonbong” Marcos Jr. on Tuesday inaugurated the Department of Migrant Workers’ (DMW) one-stop shop for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in Makati City.
(The AKSYON Center is not just an office. It is a symbol of fast, smooth, and integrated service for our OFWs. It aims to make their process easier — from reintegration and legal aid to the training and other services they need.)
Marcos said the new DMW office is “special” since this is a one-stop shop that provides essential services for our OFWs, such as document processing of returnees, OWWA membership, renewal, and other services sought in our DMW.
He said it is also accessible to meet the needs of those residing in the southern area of the National Capital Region (NCR.)
The office also has a designated area called Migrant’s Brew — a space that will provide a place to relax while enjoying coffee and refreshments.
(Apart from this, the AKSYON Center will also collaborate with various agencies such as PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, and SSS to ensure fast and trouble-free obtaining of documents and benefits [by] our countrymen. In other words, it will eliminate bureaucratic complications and make the system work for our workers. To our OFWs who are returning to the country, instead of bothering you with long queues and chaotic processes, a smooth and fast system will be opened for you to get the services, benefits, and programs of our government.)
Marcos also mentioned the “eGov PH app,” which makes the processing of birth certificates and driver’s licenses and checking loan status easier by only using smartphones.
(To our hardworking — to our hardworking and brave OFWs, remember: Your government is here for you.) — BAP, GMA Integrated News
