Marcos urges Filipinos to support local films, watch MMFF

MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. urged Filipinos to support the local film industry during the holidays and watch movies being showcased at the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).

In a video message released by Malacañang, Marcos tagged as very special the 50th anniversary of the MMFF and called on the public to patronize “the stories of the Filipinos.”

“The stories of our race again take center stage. This is through the special celebration of the 50th year of the Metro Manila Film Festival that has already been ingrained in our lives and culture as Filipinos,” the chief executive said in Filipino.

“The film entries for the Golden Year of the MMFF surely will give happiness and leave behind lessons… Bring your whole family and friends and watch all 10 movies presented in the MMFF,” he said.

The official entries in this year’s MMFF are: Isang Himala, Strange Frequency Taiwan Killer Hospital, Green Bones, Espantaho, Hold Me Close, And the Breadwinner is…., The Kingdom, My Future You, Uninvited, and Topakk.
