People have started buying firecrackers and fireworks in Bocaue, Bulacan on Thursday ahead of the New Year 2025 revelries.

Some of the buyers purchased firecrackers and fireworks in bulk, according to a report of Ivan Mayrina on GMA Integrated News’ Unang Balita.

Vendors said that after the Christmas celebration on Wednesday, they are expecting revelers to flock to their stores on Thursday to buy firecrackers for the New Year.

According to vendors, the prices of firecrackers and fireworks have not changed so far.

Lusis costs P200 per three pieces, fountain costs P150 to P250 per piece, and kwitis costs P850 per 100 pieces. Meanwhile, strong and aerial firecrackers and fireworks cost over P1,000.

Interviewed on Unang Balita, Bocaue Fire Station public information section chief Fire Officer 3 Joseph Rhayan Evangelista said that firecrackers stores have been compliant to regulations so far.

“Okay naman. Sumusunod naman lahat ng mga manufacturing natin at saka mga nagbebenta kasi taon-taon naman natin ito ginagawa,”  Evangelista said.

(It’s okay so far. All of the manufacturers and sellers are following the regulations because we do this every year.)

“Ang inaano naman ng Bureau is laging parang sa doktor: Prevention is better than cure. So ‘yun munang information dissemination, safety,” he added.

(Like a doctor, the Bureau always says: Prevention is better than cure. So we’re focusing on information dissemination and safety first.)

According to Evangelista, authorities are now discussing how to address the reselling of firecrackers and fireworks as only legitimate sellers are authorized to sell. —Joviland Rita/AOL, GMA Integrated News
