PH market tops Asian property awards

THE Philippines emerged as the most recognized market in the 19th PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards Grand Final held on Dec. 13 at The Athenee Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand. A dozen Philippine property developers, which are prominent brands in the country, received recognition at the gathering, which drew more than 130 leading developers from all over Asia.

The PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards yearly honors “the finest places to live, work, and thrive” in the region, citing its outstanding real estate companies and developers. Grand Final Chairperson Thien Duong said that the recognition emphasizes that “excellence in property development is incessantly redefined across” the area. He added that this year’s winners gained recognition “with their sustainable, functional master plans and designs, spanning everything from expansive townships to livable homes and dynamic commercial spaces.”

The Philippines emerged as the most awarded market with 12 accolades. Federal Land Inc. stood out as Best Luxury Developer (Asia), accompanied by a win for Riverpark, while Federal Land NRE Global Inc. gained the Best Breakthrough Developer (Asia) title. Aboitiz InfraCapital Economic Estates was honored as Best Industrial Developer (Asia), supported by a win for LIMA Estate.

Adding to the Philippines’ impressive tally were titles for RLC Residences, winning for The Residences at The Westin Manila; Robinsons Offices for GBF Center 1; and work.able for work.able Robinsons Summit Center. Alveo Land won for Viento at Cerca, while Sunshine Fort North Bonifacio Realty Development Corp. won for Mitsukoshi BGC.

The Estate Makati — a collaboration between SM Development Corp. (SMDC) and Federal Land — received two titles. This year’s PropertyGuru Icon Award was presented to Henry Sy Jr., non-executive director and chairman of the board at SM Prime Holdings, by the editorial team of Property Report by PropertyGuru, the official magazine of the Awards.

Meanwhile, Zhuhai Huafa Properties Co. Ltd., based in Mainland China, was honored as the Best Developer in Asia, marking one of five wins for companies representing the world power. Developers from Hong Kong and Macao excelled with four winning titles. Malaysia triumphed with 11 wins, while Indonesia and Singapore received eight awards each. Australia garnered seven wins. Thailand and Vietnam earned four titles each.
