The Philippine Air Force and the United States Pacific Air Forces conducted an activity over the Philippine Sea for a bilateral training.

“Philippine Air Force A-29 Super Tucanos, Missouri ANG C-130 H2 Hercules, and 25th Fighter Squadron A-10 Thunderbolt IIs fly in formation over the Philippine Sea for bilateral training,” the Pacific Air Forces said in a Facebook post over the weekend.

The US’ A-10 Thunderbolt IIs aircraft or “warthogs,” which is assigned to the 25th Fighter Squadron, landed at Clark Air Base in the Philippines on December 6.

This is for a training with the Philippine Air Force until December 15.

“Pacific Air Force’s Dynamic Force Employment deployments enhance combined lethality by prioritizing the capacity and capabilities for major combat operations while being strategically predictable but operationally unpredictable in an ever-evolving competitive and contested environment,” the US Pacific Air Forces said.

“The U.S. Air Force conducts regular training and engagements such as this within the region to further develop operational readiness and ensure a free and open Indo-Pacific,” it added.

Meanwhile, the Philippine Air Force on Monday said a four-ship flying integration was conducted as part of a joint exercise dubbed as “Iron Swat” on December 9 to 13 at Clark Air Base in Mabalacat, Pampanga.

“The exercise aimed to enhance interoperability between the two forces, improve close air support coordination, strengthen air-to-ground capabilities, and boost mission integration to maintain regional peace and stability,” the Philippine Air Force said.—Joviland Rita/AOL, GMA Integrated News
