PRICES of four of the six major fertilizer grades dropped in the week of Dec. 16-20, according to a report by the Fertilizer and Pesticide Authority (FPA).
Fertilizer grade refers to the legal guarantee of the available plant nutrients as a percentage by weight in a fertilizer.
Ammophos (16-20-0) dropped P7.56 to P1,435 per 50-kg bag. It was highest at P1,665.81 in Bicol and lowest at P1,242.50 in Central Luzon.
Urea-granular was priced at P1,574.86, a P16.50 decrease from the previous week. It was most expensive in the Eastern Visayas at P1,862.50, and cheapest at P1,454,115 in Soccsksargen.
Diammonium phosphate (18-46-0) was P21.21 less at P2,538.33. It was highest at P2,702.50 in the Zamboanga Peninsula and lowest at P2,230 in Calabarzon.
Muriate of potash (0-0-60) had the biggest price rollback of P48.92 to P1,901.83. It was highest in the National Capital Region (NCR) at P3,000 and lowest at P1,429.80 in Soccsksargen.
On the other hand, prices rose for the other fertilizer grades.
Ammosul (21-0-0) rose P0.01 to P818.72. It was priciest in the Central Visayas at P952.04 and least costly in Soccsksargen at P718.47.
Complete (14-14-14) sold for P1,584.12, up P2.32. It was highest at P2,050 in the NCR and lowest at P1,398.89 in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (Barmm).
Urea-prilled (46-0-0) was up by P5.62 to P1,628.58. It was highest at P2,050 in the NCR and cheapest at P1,435 in Barmm.
