A shear line, the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), and the northeast monsoon or amihan will continue to bring rain all over the country, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Monday.

Pagasa said the shear line, or the area where cold and hot air meet, will dump rain in Southern Luzon while most parts of Luzon will also have rain due to the northeast monsoon.

The shear line will bring scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms in mainland Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, Quezon, Rizal, Laguna, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, and Catanduanes. Flash floods or landslides are possible, Pagasa warned.

Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, the rest of Mimaropa, the rest of Bicol Region, Caraga, Davao Oriental, Misamis Occidental, Misamis Oriental, Lanao del Norte, and Lanao del Sur may expect cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the ITCZ affecting Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao. Moderate to heavy rains may possibly cause flash floods or landslides.

Meanwhile, the Cordillera Administrative Region and the rest of Cagayan Valley will have cloudy skies with rains due to the northeast monsoon. Moderate to at times heavy rains may possibly result in flash floods or landslides.

The Ilocos Region and the rest of Central Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the monsoon, but with no significant impact seen.

Metro Manila and the rest of Calabarzon will be affected by the shear line and will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.

The rest of Mindanao, on the other hand, will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the ITCZ, Pagasa said in its 4 a.m. advisory.
