ALBAY, Philippines — Three weather systems are expected to bring rains across the country, state weather bureau PAGASA said on Sunday, December 29.
In its 4 a.m. weather bulletin, PAGASA said the shear line will cause cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms in Metro Manila, Calabarzon, Aurora, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur and Catanduanes.
The intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms to the Visayas, the rest of Mimaropa, the rest of Bicol Region, Zamboanga del Norte, Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte and Surigao del Sur.
Meanwhile, the rest of Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to ITCZ.
In Luzon, the northeast monsoon or amihan will continue to bring cloudy skies with rains over Cagayan Valley and Cordillera Administrative Region.
The rest of Luzon will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the amihan.
PAGASA warned of potential flash floods and landslides, particularly in Cagayan and Isabela, where heavy to intense rainfall is expected. — Kristine Daguno-Bersamina
