MANILA, Philippines — Christmas isn’t Christmas without a beautiful and delicious ham on the Noche Buena table.
Stores have come up with their own ham offerings that come in pretty boxes or packages, but for those who would want to make it more special, there is a way to tweak that store-bought Noche Buena staple.
Home Foodie and the San Miguel Pure Foods Culinary Center show just how simple and easy it is to do with this recipe of Christmas Ham Glaze.
Christmas Ham Glaze
Ingredients:
1 kg. Purefoods Fiesta Ham
For the glaze:
1 bottle Cerveza Negra
1/2 liter unsweetened pineapple juice
1 pack (250 grams) frozen strawberries
2 pcs. cinnamon barks
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup Magnolia Gold Butter Salted
Procedure:
1. Combine Cerveza Negra, pineapple juice, strawberries, cinnamon barks, and brown sugar in a saucepan. Simmer for 25 minutes over low heat.
2. Turn off heat, then add butter. Stir until butter melts. Pour on ham before serving.
*Makes 10-12 servings.
