MANILA, Philippines — The shear line – an imaginary line where the hot and cold air converge – will be bringing heavy to intense rainfall over Isabela on Tuesday and in Cagayan on Wednesday, according to the state weather bureau.
It said that it has not monitored any tropical cyclone or low pressure area inside or outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility in the coming days.
Weather specialist Patrick del Mundo of the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the shear line was also affecting Metro Manila, Quirino, Aurora, Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, Rizal, Quezon and Kalayaan Islands where scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms would prevail.
Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon or “amihan” is bringing overcast skies with rains over the rest of Cagayan Valley and Cordillera Administrative Region and isolated light rains over Ilocos Region, Pagasa said in its 5 a.m. advisory.
The rest of the country will be experiencing partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated downpours or thunderstorms due to the localized thunderstorms, it added.
