Two students fell into the river after the bridge they were crossing collapsed following inclement weather in Caraga, Davao Oriental.
In a “Saksi” report on Wednesday, the bridge, which was made of bamboo, collapsed due to the strong current.
One of the students and their guide were able to hold onto a rock while the other student was swept away.
Fortunately, the student was swept to the shallow part of the river and everyone was safe.
Meanwhile, some trees fell in Boston town.
In Mauban, Quezon, floodwater entered some houses after the rainfall.
Soil eroded along Andaya Highway in Lupi, Camarines Norte.
According to PAGASA, the low pressure area, formerly known as Tropical Depression Quirubin, caused rainfall over Visayas and Mindanao.
It also brought rainfall over Quezon Province along with the shear line. — Mariel Celine Serquiña/BAP, GMA Integrated News
