The vehicle of Sulu Provincial Election Supervisor Julie Vidzfar was ambushed in Zamboanga City on Saturday morning, according to Commission on Elections (Comelec) Chairman George Garcia.
The attack, reported by Super Radyo dzBB’s Carlo Mateo and later confirmed by Garcia, occurred before 10 a.m.
Supervisor Vidzfar was unharmed, but her sibling sustained injuries and was rushed to hospital for treatment.
The ambush happened in the Santa Maria area of Zamboanga City while the siblings were en route to the airport.
Comelec Chairman Garcia expressed deep concern over the incident and called on the Philippine National Police to thoroughly investigate the attack. — DVM, GMA Integrated News
