MANILA, Philippines — The United Arab Emirates-based non-governmental organization (NGO) Shades of Pink Society will soon help breast cancer patients in the Philippines.

The NGO was founded by two-time breast cancer survivor Regina Baldeo Drew in 2018. As a breast cancer survivor, she has witnessed the challenges, fears and triumphs that come with this journey. These experiences have fueled her passion to create an organization where those affected by breast cancer can find not only resources and support but also inspiration to keep fighting.

This charity is now fully registered as a non-profit organization in the Philippines by the Securities Exchange Commision under the new name “Shades of Pink Philippine Foundation Inc.” and will be launched in Quezon City in March.

“I’ve experienced the battle fighting breast cancer. So hard. Because of this, I became stronger, more resilient, fought more and grateful at the same time because through hardships and prayers, I was able to survive! Don’t lose hope. Just fight and pray,” Drew said.

“It’s not easy establishing a foundation. People need to trust you and you need to show your supporters that you are committed to make a big difference to the community,” she added.

The charity logo is a vibrant pink design with the powerful phrase, “Fight to Live, Live to Inspire.” This statement represents their core belief that every battle fought is a victory that lights the way for someone else. Through medical missions, breast cancer awareness talk, workshops, community partnerships, they bring people raise awareness and advocate for a future without breast cancer.

The foundation’s Shades of Pink Support Centre is open for everyone affected by the said disease. The center has several activities and programs, like free pampering treatments for patients when they visit the place.
