MANILA, Philippines— Four weather systems, including the northeast monsoon or amihan, will bring scattered or isolated rain showers in most parts of the country, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Monday.
Weather specialist Robert Badrina said the convergence of hot and cold air called shear line has been affecting Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Marinduque, Oriental Mindoro, Quezon, and Aurora where overcast skies would be likely.
Meanwhile, the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) – an imaginary line where winds coming from the northern and southern hemispheres meet – will bring scattered rains and thunderstorms in Eastern Visayas, Caraga and Davao Region.
Badrina said the northeast monsoon has been affecting areas in Northern Luzon and the rest of Central Luzon where cloudy skies with isolated light rains would prevail.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country, meanwhile, will have isolated downpours or thunderstorms due to the localized thunderstorms, Pagasa said in its 5 a.m. advisory.
