SINGAPORE-BASED property technology startup Homeqube Pte. Ltd. is targeting to build in the Philippines some 1,000 homes integrated with artificial intelligence (AI) and blockchain technology, and introduce a do-it-yourself (DIY) home kit by mid-2025.
Homeqube founder and CEO Jose Paolo Calma told The Manila Times it will launch its DIY QUBE, which enables buyers to build their homes part by part at their own pace.
“Our AI-powered modular component marketplace will be available [in the] first quarter of 2025,” he noted.
Homeqube uses glass fiber-reinforced polymer (GFRP), a lightweight material that could be easily transported to any location of the homebuyer’s choice. It has pre-built and post-built components, providing modular building capabilities to design a homebuyer’s desired home.
The material can withstand harsh weather conditions in the Philippines, including up to 310 kilometers per hour of strong winds, Calma said.
“We have houses for everyone, a first house for starters, or a second house by the beach for more mature families, or a farm house for the landed,” he added.
Since opening its immersive, self-service showroom in Makati on Nov. 2024, Homeqube has booked five house orders, one partnership collaboration to expand its design iterations, and one commercial bank lending arrangement for its customers to avail up to P3 million in unsecured loans.
“All [orders will be delivered] in the first quarter of 2025,” Calma said, noting that “we are confident on our targets, we just don’t know how soon we can achieve that [1,000 goal].”
Homeqube units cost from P1 million to P15 million, depending on 45 designs customizable on a client’s design structures. Its home delivery service is said to have a faster turnover period than the18-month lead time on traditional home building, thus saving buyers time and project costs from logistics and middleman fees.
