CALOOCAN Mayor Dave Gonzalo Malapitan announced on Friday that the city government has partnered with the Golden Arches Development Corp. — the master franchise holder of McDonald’s in the Philippines — for the employment of senior citizens in one of the leading fast food chains in the country.

For a start, Malapitan told The Manila Times said that some senior citizens in Caloocan have started working as part of McDonald’s crew for select locations in the city, including Vicas, Puregold-Zabarte, North Olympus, Maypajo, EDSA, MCU and C-4 branches.

At the same time, the mayor was all praises for the city’s Public Employment Service Office and Office for Senior Citizens Affairs for spearheading the project.

“This kind of initiative was primarily designed to create equal opportunities for all members of the community, especially senior citizens who are still willing and able to work, and to provide for their families,” Malapitan said.

Also, he was extra-thankful for the support of Mcdo Philippines for helping the city government’s push “to leave no member of the community behind” regardless of age and circumstance.
