Former deputy national security adviser and long-time Ilocos Sur governor Chavit Singson on Sunday announced that he is dropping out of the Senate race in the upcoming national and local elections.
In a speech, Singson said he will not pursue his candidacy due to health reasons.
(After much thought, I have decided that I will no longer continue with my candidacy in the Senate. I don’t want to force it, especially at the expense of my health.)
He added that despite his treatment with pneumonia, he still needs rest. — BM, GMA Integrated News
