MANILA, Philippines — Marikina Mayor Marcy Teodoro’s name will remain on the ballot as a candidate for congressman in the city’s First District, despite his disqualification by the Commission on Elections (Comelec) 1st Division.
Comelec Chairman George Garcia clarified that Teodoro’s candidacy has not been officially revoked as the Comelec en banc has yet to issue a final ruling on his motion for reconsideration. The commission’s en banc body must make a decision with a certificate of finality to remove a candidate from the ballot.
