MANILA, Philippines — Forty-seven most wanted fugitives were arrested in Metro Manila in the first three days of the year, police reported yesterday.

Brig. Gen. Anthony Aberin, National Capital Region Police Office director, said the suspects were apprehended by police tracker teams from Jan. 1 to 3.

Aberin said among the people arrested was a 26-year-old man listed as the No. 6 most wanted person in Metro Manila for rape and acts of lasciviousness.

“It is high time for these elusive and notorious wanted persons to answer these heinous crimes they have committed and squarely face the scales of justice,” Aberin said.
