MANILA, Philippines — Occidental Mindoro Gov. Eduardo Gadiano has expressed support for President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s call to halt the impeachment proceedings against Vice President Sara Duterte.
In a statement, the governor emphasized that such political conflicts only created division among government leaders and citizens, hindering the country’s progress and tarnishing its image on the global stage.
“The ongoing impeachment process does not serve the interests of the Filipino people. Instead, it sows discord and distracts us from addressing the pressing issues our nation faces,” the governor said.
The governor stressed the importance of unity and cooperation in achieving national peace and development. He called on both leaders and citizens to focus on initiatives that promote economic stability, address inflation, and improve vital sectors like health, education, and agriculture.
“Now is the time for collective leadership and solidarity. Together, we can overcome our challenges and create a brighter future for every Filipino,” the governor said.
