MANILA, Philippines — The convergence of hot and cold air called shear line could bring moderate to heavy rains that may cause flash floods or landslides in some areas in Luzon and Visayas, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Monday.
Particularly affected by the shear line are areas in Eastern Visayas, Bicol Region, Mimaropa (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan) and Quezon province, weather specialist Robert Badrina said.
Meanwhile, the easterlies – winds coming from the east passing through the Pacific Ocean that carry warm and humid weather – will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms in Caraga and Davao Region.
Metro Manila, Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Aurora, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, and Rizal will have overcast skies with isolated light rains due to the northeast monsoon or amihan.
The rest of the country will likely have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.
