The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Thursday vowed to continue its modernization efforts and reaffirmed its commitment to be impartial in 2025.
PNP chief Police General Rommel Francisco Marbil highlighted the organization’s initiatives such as the deployment of body-worn cameras, real-time crime mapping, and enhanced cybercrime prevention units.
“We envision a modern police force for a modern Filipino society—responsive, professional, and attuned to the times,” Marbil said in a statement.
For Marbil, technology is an indispensable partner.
He cited the use of advanced analytics to prevent crime as well as the use of artificial intelligence to track criminal activities.
Meanwhile, the PNP chief reiterated the PNP’s commitment to impartiality as three elections are set to be held this year, including the May midterm polls.
“We are a police force that prioritizes the welfare of the people, untainted by political affiliations or influences,” Marbil said.
He also called for a stronger collaboration between the PNP and the public, saying that a modern police force thrives on a strong partnership.
“Let us move forward into this New Year with hope and determination. The PNP is here to serve, protect, and modernize for the benefit of every Filipino,” he said.
