MANILA, Philippines — Stars of Netflix’s hit Korean series “Squid Game” tried out several games from around the world, including the Philippines’ own Tumbang Preso.
In a video promoting the show’s second season posted on Netflix Philippines’ YouTube channel, the actors took turns playing global games.
Tumbang Preso was the first game shown in the video, played by lead actor Lee Jung-jae and newcomer Jo Yu-ri in a version where they simply had to knock the can out of a circle using a slipper.
Both struggled to get going, with Jung-jae even commenting about the slipper’s structure affecting his gameplay.

“Given the slipper’s weight, there’s something scientific about its curve that makes it air-resistant,” Jung-jae said in Korean. “That’s why it’s so hard.”
In the end, Yu-ri let out a shout of relief as she was the only one who managed to knock out the can. Jung-jae also played Indonesia’s Gasing, while Yu-ri also played the American Jacks.
Their co-stars played other global games, including Japan’s Menko, Sweden’s Kubb, Thailand’s Mak kep, Brazil’s Peteca, Vietnam’s Choi Chuyen, Poland’s Quoits, India’s Kanche, Malaysia and Singapore’s Goli Panjang and Batu Seremban, the Southeast Asian Sepak Takraw, and the ever-popular Musical Chairs. — Video from Netflix Philippines’s YouTube channel
