National Capital Region Police Office policemen and Intelligence Service of the Armed Forces of the Philippines servicemen recaptured a convict who escaped from the Baguio City military stockade last July 22.
Quoting Bureau of Corrections Director General Gregorio Catapang Jr., Sam Nielsen reported Saturday on Super Radyo dzBB that the 30-year-old escaped person deprived of liberty was caught Friday in Makati City’s Barangay Pio del Pilar.
A Marikina court had found the escaped PDL guilty of homicide and had sentenced him to eight to 14 years in jail.
The fugitive had served eight years, five months, and 13 days of his sentence.
Catapang warned PDLs against escape attempts, as getting recaptured was inevitable, and this would lengthen their jail time. — DVM, GMA Integrated News
