MANILA, Philippines — The low pressure area spotted off Northern Samar may develop into a tropical depression, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Sunday.
The LPA was last sighted some 440 kilometers east of Catarman, Northern Samar.
Pagasa said the LPA is affecting Eastern Visayas, Bicol Region and Quezon where overcast skies and scattered rain showers and thunderstorms are likely.
Meanwhile, the southwest monsoon locally known as “habagat” will prevail in most parts of the country including Metro Manila which will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated downpours or thunderstorms.
