An off-duty policeman was fatally shot by a teenager he accosted for a curfew violation in Mandaue, Cebu, according to a 24 Oras report on Monday.
Investigation showed the victim saw the 16-year-old suspect walking outdoors around midnight Saturday.
The victim introduced himself as a police officer and advised the teenager to go home since there was a curfew.
According to investigators, the teenager said he shot the victim because he got scared that the policeman might arrest him.
The suspect surrendered to authorities the following morning but the gun he used was not recovered.
The teenager was turned over to the Mandaue City Social Welfare Services.
