American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift is devastated by the recent tragic incident at a children’s dance class in Southport, England.
In an Instagram story, Taylor expressed her shock and sorrow after the event that resulted in the loss of three young lives and injured several others.
“The horror of yesterday’s incident in Southport is washing over me continuously, and I’m just completely in shock,” the Grammy award-winning singer wrote.
“The loss of life and innocence, and the trauma inflicted on everyone who was there, the families, and first responders. These were just little kids at a dance class,” she added.
The event has sent shockwaves through the nation, prompting urgent investigations into the circumstances surrounding it. Despite strict regulations, certain crimes remain a pressing issue in the UK. A 17-year-old suspect has been detained on suspicion of involvement in the incident.
Merseyside Police confirmed that three young girls, aged six, seven, and nine, lost their lives. Eight children and two adults sustained injuries, with five children and two adults remaining in critical condition.
They added that the assailant entered the premises and launched the attack, with adults bravely intervening to protect the children.
Taylor concluded her post, stating, “I am at a complete loss for words to express my sympathies to these families.”
