A father hacked his loved ones after waking up one night, killing two of his children and hurting his wife in Iba, Zambales.
According to the report on “Saksi” by Russel Simorio of GMA Regional TV, the suspect killed his children, aged 11 and nine.
A five-year-old child reportedly hid inside a cabinet but was still wounded.
The mother said her husband woke up on the night of July 26, took a bolo, and hacked their children.
“Masakit bilang isang ina. Hindi katanggap-tanggap ýung ginawa niya sa amin lalo na ako kritikal ang kondisyon ko. Isang taga lang pero sagad po sa utak ng mga bata,” Mary Jane Mercado said.
(As a mother, what happened to us is painful. I can’t accept what he did to us. I am in critical condition. He only hacked the children once but it went through to their brains.)
Mercado said her husband was neither drunk nor using illegal drugs.
“Wala po siyang drug involved kasi ang tagal po namin nagsama, nine years, hindi ko po siya nakita na gumamit ng droga,” Mercado said.
(There are no drugs involved. In our nine years of marriage, I never saw him use illegal drugs.)
