TONI&GUY, a global leader in innovative hairdressing for 60 years and 22 years of excellence in the Philippines, recently hosted a world-class hair and fashion show at The Fifth in Rockwell, Makati City.
The event was attended by no other than the country’s A-listers including Heart Evangelista, Rajo Laurel, Teresa Herrera, Cristalle Belo-Pitt, Ces Drilon, Nicole Hernandez, Christian Bautista, Ciara Sotto, Miss Philippines Earth 2017 Karen Ibasco, actor Rocco Nacino and wife Melissa Gohing, TONI&GUY Philippines chairman Chot Reyes, and GILAS Pilipinas coach Tim Cone.
“This has been a long and fulfilling personal journey that has been more than two decades in the making,” said Cherry Reyes, founder and managing director of TONI&GUY Philippines.
Under Reyes’ leadership, the salon has emerged as a top choice in the Philippines for cutting-edge hairstyles, vibrant hair color, and personalized hair care services, providing valuable insights for clients, hairdressers, and salon owners.
Reyes was inspired to bring TONI&GUY to the Philippines in 2002 to enhance the hairdressing industry, provide exceptional customer experiences, and offer Filipinos world-class salon training.
During the grand event, attendees enjoyed a live hair and fashion exhibition where top hairdressers showcased their expertise. Leading the lineup were Cos Sakkas, TONI&GUY’s Global creative director, Bill Watson, educational director of TONI&GUY China and Southern Hemisphere, Francesco Fontana, international color educational director, and Efi Davies, international artistic director for TONI&GUY London.
Sakkas presented a four-part show concept. “Hair at TONI&GUY” celebrated the brand’s heritage with versatile hairstyles and innovative color techniques. “Editorial” highlighted TONI&GUY’s 20-year partnership with London Fashion Week. “Unfold” focused on creative cuts and colors for hairdressers. Finally, “Avant Garde” showcased imaginative hairstyles led by Efi Davies, the Avant Garde Hairdresser of the Year.
Fontana spoke about inclusivity through gender-fluid styles and diverse color palettes, while Watson emphasized teamwork, attention to detail, and a people-centric approach as keys to their success. Davies highlighted the transformative power of hairstyling, showing how different techniques can enhance facial features.
“Hair is supposed to live with you, within your lifestyle. We want the hair to be touchable, wearable, and for the wearer to flirt with their own hair,” said Sakkas.
Wella Philippines, Brazilian Blowout, and Label M Philippines sponsored the event.
