Clark International Airport Corp. (CIAC) and Pampanga State Agricultural University (PSAU) signed a memorandum of understanding on July 30, 2024 to collaborate on the development of the 62-hectare National Food Hub at Clark Civil Aviation Complex.

“This is a strategic partnership with a leading agricultural state university near Clark. It has a specific mandate to support the community and the country, focusing on capacity building in logistical planning for the food hub and the entire Clark civil aviation complex,” said CIAC president Arrey Perez.

The MOU outlines several areas of collaboration, including research and development, extension and training projects, food security and sustainable farming systems, human resource sharing and staff training and capability-building activities.

PSAU president Anita David committed to sharing its academic research and aligning studies with CIAC’s expected deliverables for the project.

The P8.5-billion National Food Hub Project envisions a state-of-the-art facility replicating advanced agro-logistics systems from Asia and Europe. It aims to elevate food safety standards and provide better opportunities for local farmers, fisherfolk and growers.

The project timeline includes the completion of the feasibility study and pre-tender documents by January 2025, with the project concession agreement expected to be signed by January 2026.
