President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has issued an executive order to increase the salaries of government workers and provide an additional allowance to state employees.
“Given the prevailing economic circumstances, including the erosion of purchasing power due to inflation, there is a need to update the salaries, and benefits of government personnel,” Mr. Marcos said.
According to the EO, the salary increases will be rolled out in four phases starting January 1 and continuing annually through 2027.
This applies to all civilian government personnel, including those in Executive, Legislative, and Judicial branches, as well as local government units and specific government-owned corporations.
Additionally, qualified government employees will receive an annual medical allowance of P7,000 to support health maintenance benefits.
The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) will issue guidelines to implement the new order.
