MANILA, Philippines — THE Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Monday that it is closely monitoring two low pressure areas (LPAs) spotted inside and outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).
Weather specialist Robert Badrina said that the two LPAs have no direct effect yet on the weather condition in the country.
“But we are closely monitoring these two LPAS, the first one inside PAR was spotted some 1,155 kilometers east-northeast of extreme Northern Luzon,” he said.
The other one was in the eastern section of Luzon, Pagasa said.
In the meantime, the southwest monsoon locally known as habagat is affecting most parts of the archipelago particularly Palawan, Visayas and Mindanao.
Scattered or isolated rain showers and thunderstorms would prevail in these areas.
Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to overcast skies due to the localized thunderstorms.
