Eight out of 10 Filipinos support the proposal to prohibit the use of cellphones in schools, according to a Pulse Asia survey commissioned by Senate Committee on Basic Education, Arts and Culture Chairperson Sherwin Gatchalian.
Seventy-six percent said they are in favor of the imposition of a ban on cellphone use inside schools, 13% are against the proposal, while 11% are undecided.
About 1,200 respondents answered the survey questions.
Gatchalian filed a proposal to ban the use of inside school premises by Kindergarten to Senior High School students during classes. — BAP, GMA Integrated News
