President Ferdinand ”Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Wednesday welcomed the recent OCTA survey showing that Filipinos who prefer to identify themselves as pro-Marcos have increased in the second quarter of the year.

At the sidelines of an event in Pampanga, Marcos told reporters that he is glad that Filipinos are starting to see and understand what his administration intends to do for the country.

”Well, of course, good news lagi ‘yan, ‘yung maraming sumusuporta sa iyo. We don’t… Well, I’m sure the— ‘yung mga analysts diyan magsasabi kung anong mga tunay na ibig sabihin diyan (That is always good news, that more people are supporting you. The analysts will say what the survey means),” Marcos said.

”But I have to say that is nice to know that people are beginning to understand what we are trying to do,” he added.

Marcos said the government wants to continue to improve the lives of every Filipino.

”And I think that maybe because we really don’t— hindi kami nagde-decide dahil para sa magandang survey. Nagde-decide kami para pagandahin ang buhay ng Pilipinas. Kaya’t tuloy-tuloy ang mga — ganun pa rin ang gagawin namin,” Marcos said.

(We don’t decide for the surveys. We decide to improve the status of the country. So we will continue what we are doing.)

OCTA’s Tugon ng Masa (TNM) survey said pro-Marcos Filipinos increased to 36% in June 2024 from 31% in March, while pro-Duterte Filipinos decreased from 20% in March to 16% in June.

The survey showed that persons who identify themselves as supporters of Marcos and his administration were highest in the National Capital Region (NCR) with 43% and lowest in Mindanao with 25%.

Regions where at least 50% of adult Filipinos support Marcos include the Cordillera Administrative Region (83%), Ilocos Region (60%), Cagayan Valley (79%), MIMAROPA (69%), and Eastern Visayas (75%), the survey said.—AOL, GMA Integrated News
