SURIGAO del Norte 2nd District Rep. Robert Ace Barbers called for an investigation into the raid on the compound of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KoJC) in Davao City where church leader Apollo Quiboloy was believed to be hiding.

A former KoJC member claimed that the raid, which was conducted last Friday by a team from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) regional office, was staged.

Barbers, who heads the Committee on Dangerous Drugs, said that NBI Region 11 Director Archie Albao needed to answer the allegation.

“The accusations against Director Albao are serious. It is important that we investigate this matter to uncover the truth about these issues. We do not want to jump to conclusions without hearing what Director Albao has to say,” Barbers said.

The former KoJC member, Arlene Stone, said the raid was staged, and that Albao had links to Quiboloy.
