The Land Transportation Office has lodged a complaint with the prosecutor’s office against a colorum van driver in Calapan, Oriental Mindoro, for violating the Public Service Act.
According to the LTO MIMAROPA on Monday, a van was caught transporting eight passengers during an operation conducted by the LTO.
The passengers revealed they originated from several places in Oriental Mindoro and were bound for destinations such as Manila, Quezon City, Cavite, Lipa City, and Batangas. They had paid fares ranging from P1,500 to P6,000.
The driver failed to present a requisite authority or permit from the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) and admitted that he was engaging in colorum operations.
The LTO impounded the vehicle pending the issuance of a court order for its release. — Jiselle Anne Casucian/VBL, GMA Integrated News
