MINDANAO Container Terminal (MCT), operated by International Container Terminal Services Inc. (ICTSI) in Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental, recently welcomed the launch of Shandong International Transportation Corp.’s (SITC) China-Philippines Express 7 (CXP7) service.
“SITC’s new service is designed to meet the growing demand for increased calls at MCT that will cater to the needs of pineapple and banana shippers for timely exports to China,” Aurelio Garcia, MCT chief executive officer, said.
The introduction of CXP7 highlights MCT’s crucial role in supporting regional agricultural exports. The CXP7 service is tailored to accommodate Bukidnon’s rising export volume of fruits like pineapples and bananas. It offers a reliable transport solution, enhancing export efficiency and strengthening market links between Mindanao and China.
The CXP7 route includes ports in Shanghai, Wenzhou, Manila (South), Cebu, and Cagayan de Oro, with a call at MCT scheduled every Monday.
This new route enhances trade connectivity for Mindanao’s fresh produce exports to China.
The maiden voyage was marked by the arrival of the 1,800-TEU vessel SITC Haode in Cagayan de Oro.
The new service underscores MCT’s growing significance as a trade hub in Southern Philippines and reflects the terminal’s commitment to enhancing trade infrastructure and supporting Mindanao’s agricultural export sector.
MCT, a subsidiary of ICTSI, operates at the Phividec Industrial Estate in Tagoloan. It provides comprehensive terminal operations, crucial for supporting the Philippines’ agro-industrial sectors and reinforcing its position as a leading exporter of fresh and canned pineapple.
