THE Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) announced that the retroactive payments for delayed education grants were credited on Wednesday to the bank accounts of household recipients who were brought back into the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps).
The beneficiaries’ grants were withheld while they were being reviewed through the Social Welfare and Development Indicators, 4Ps National Program Manager and Director Gemma Gabuya said on Thursday.
The retroactive payments covering pay periods in the 10-month education grants for the year 2023 have been credited to the Land Bank of the Philippines accounts of over 650,000 4Ps beneficiaries.
Gabuya said the delayed health grants and rice subsidies for reinstated households have been distributed between December 2023 and June 2024.
On August 17, another set of over 120,000 reestablished 4Ps families are expected to get retroactive payments for education, health, and rice subsidies.
“We acknowledge that these grants are vital for the reinstated families, and we are committed to ensuring that these funds reach them promptly,” Gabuya said.
Under the 4Ps program, each household receives a health and nutrition grant of P750 a month and a rice subsidy of P600 a month.
The families’ children in elementary school receive a monthly education grant of P300 for 10 months, P500 for junior high school, and P700 for senior high school.
