OIL industry sources said Friday that fuel prices were likely to go down next week, following a week of sustained increase.
Gasoline prices were estimated to go down by P1.15 to P1.35 per liter, while the projected roll back for diesel prices was P2.00 to P2.20 per liter.
Kerosene prices could drop by P1.90 to P2.00 per liter.
These estimates were based on the four-day trading of Mean of Platts Singapore, the pricing basis of refined goods in Southeast Asia.
The Department of Energy Oil Industry – Management Bureau (DoE-OIMB), attributed the expected decrease in fuel prices to recent developments in the Middle East and a slower global demand for oil.
