Philippine National Police (PNP) officers converged on the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) compound in Davao City early Saturday morning to execute an arrest warrant against its leader, Pastor Apollo Quiboloy.
Before dawn, hundreds of PNP personnel from the Davao Regional Office were stationed at the entrance of the KOJC compound in Buhangin District.
Brigadier General Nicolas Torre III, director of PNP Davao, confirmed that they were prepared to forcibly enter the compound if necessary. At around 5:27 a.m., police officers made their way inside.
Police Regional Office (PRO) XI later confirmed a KOJC member died during the operation.
According to a report from GMA News’ Super Radyo Davao, the male KOJC member passed away due to a heart attack.
