A barge ran aground along the Pasig River on Saturday morning due to the low tide, according to an advisory by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority.
The privately owned barge was sailing along the shallow Napindan section of the river that was also obstructed by water hyacinths.
Pasig River Ferry Service operations were suspended due to the grounding
According to authorities, they would wait for the high tide to come in before attempting to pull the barge out of the area. — DVM, GMA Integrated News
