The Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council 1 (RDRRMC-1) has issued a warning to the public about possible debris falling from a Chinese rocket launch.
The launch of the Long March 7A rocket from the Wenchang Spacecraft Launch Site in Hainan, China, could result in debris landing in Philippine waters.
The launch is scheduled between 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. from August 21 to August 25.
The identified drop zones are approximately 38 nautical miles from Burgos, Ilocos Norte, and 66 nautical miles from Santa Ana, Cagayan.
Residents and fishermen are advised to avoid sailing, fishing, or swimming near these areas during the launch period.
The RDRRMC-1 also warns against approaching any debris, as it may contain toxic substances. — GMA Regional TV
