‘Habagat’ to prevail in most parts of PH, including Metro Manila until weekend

MANILA, Philippines — Scattered and isolated rain showers are expected in most parts of the archipelago, including Metro Manila all throughout the day brought by the southwest monsoon or “habagat,” the state-run weather agency said on Tuesday.

In fact, this weather system will likely persist until the weekend, weather specialist Rhea Torres of the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

Citing data and analysis, the Pagasa forecaster said they have not monitored any tropical cyclone or low pressure area entering or forming within the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) in the coming days.

In its 5 a.m. advisory, the state weather bureau said isolated downpours or thunderstorms will be experienced over Bicol Region, the rest of Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batnagas, Rizal and Quezon) and Visayas due to the southwest monsoon.
